 The
Sylvite names goes back over 30 years. In 1970, the Hudson Bay Mining and
Smelting Company established a marketing division carrying the SYLVITE name
to operate a potash mine in Rocanville, Sasketchewan. The name SYLVITE is
derived from the word "SYLVANITE," which is one of the ores from which potash
is produced.
In 1978, two employees of Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Company purchased
the name SYLVITE and a new era of fertilizer marketing was established.
This new company, SYLVITE SALES, began to rapidly position itself as a reliable,
independent marketer of fertilizer ingredients. Through corporate expansion,
partnerships, and a solid management team, SYLVITE continues to grow its
companies with an eye on the latest technology to ensure we're meeting our
customers expectations.
Functioning as a extension of the manufacturer, SYLVITE's team is recognized
throughout the industry as a reliable information source and a dependent
source of supply.
